Pitzhanger Manor

Building projects Heritage

Since 2006 we have been working as lead consultants on the redevelopment of Pitzhanger Manor House in Ealing, a Grade I listed Sir John Soane house and the surrounding Walpole Park. We began by developing through consultation an options appraisal and heritage, cultural and business strategy for the house.  Demonstrating that the market existed and could be attracted by the redevelopment through extensive qualitative and quantitative work, we secured commitment from the client and proceeded to a complex HLF application process for the Park and House.

We secured a HLF Parks for People Round 2 approval (£2.4m toward a £5m project) in Spring 2011 and this enabled our submission for a Heritage Grant application for the Manor House, which recently secured a Round One pass for £3.9m toward a £9m project. This was based on already-detailed business and activity planning, based on consultation and detailed analysis of the market and on an imaginative approach to pricing, secondary income, events and conferencing. We are now underway with the integrated but phased implementation of the two projects of this £14m overall project.
