Belper North Mill

Building projects Heritage Organisational Development

In the heart of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, Belper North Mill is a Grade 1 cotton mill on the buildings at risk register. Now part museum and visitor centre, part lettable space, the North Mill is amongst the very earliest ‘fire retardant’ mills. The Mill spawned the town of Belper, much of which is still as first constructed from the late eighteenth century for housing the millworkers. With support from HLF Transitional Funds, our role is to help the Belper North Mill Trust to save the Mill and secure its future.
