Strategy

DCA undertakes a wide variety of strategic work, including:

  • Development of arts, cultural, creative industries and capital strategies and the action planning of their implementation.
  • Planning of projects and interventions for arts and cultural development and creative industries support.
  • Evaluation of strategies, projects and interventions.
  • Arts and creative industries mapping from secondary sources and through primary research.
  • Economic impact analyses.
  • Organisational review and change implementation, including governance, missions and strategies, planning processes, staffing structures, fundraising strategies, budgeting and financial monitoring, organisational and individual skills mapping and training needs analyses.

In all its strategy related work, DCA's emphasis is on laying the ground for real and sustainable outcomes.

DCA has a particular expertise in creative workspace and in practice and business development support for artists. We are currently project managing the Inhabit strand of Artists Insights for Arts Council England, which is all about creative workspace development - the significance of workspace in the creative process and its importance to wider communities and to the regeneration of neighbourhoods. Alongside this national work we have been doing a range of creative workspace feasibility studies around the country.
